GRIDX is emerging as a multi-experience destination in Luxembourg and a unique concept in Europe: art, mobility, gastronomy, business and leisure all brought together under one roof. To support this ambitious vision, Enerdeal has designed and delivered a self-consumption photovoltaic plant, tailored to the site’s intensive use and versatility.
This carport is every bit as unique as the venue. located more than 30 meters high, on the top level of a multi-storey car park, it directly supplies the site’s needs, immediately reducing grid consumption and operating costs. the result is local, predictable and competitive energy, perfectly aligned with the project’s sustainability strategy.
- Installed capacity: ~670 kWp = 1,276 panels
- Oientation and tilt: east/west, 10°, to smooth production throughout the day
- Operating mode: 100% self-consumption
This low-tilt east/west architecture maximises the usable surface area, spreads production between morning and evening, and adapts to varied load profiles (restaurants, offices, events, hospitality, etc.).
Under Luxembourg conditions, a plant of this size produces more than 600 GWp per year. In concrete terms, this covers a significant share of GRIDX’s electricity needs and prevents the emission of several hundred tonnes of co₂ each year compared with 100% grid electricity, while protecting the site against price volatility.
- Safety and continuity: string-level redundancy and real-time supervision for a high-traffic site.
- Integration quality: choice of premium components and a structure optimised for durability.
- Data and control: detailed monitoring to track production, self-consumption and savings, and to finely adjust usage (restaurant, events, mobility charging, etc.).
- Scalability: a design ready for future extensions and the integration of flexible uses (storage, e-mobility, energy management).
GRIDX is neither a shopping centre, nor a museum, nor a simple mobility hub: it is all of these at once. Enerdeal is proud to have turned this ambition into clean, local energy that is visible every day. the experience offered to visitors, and the site’s environmental impact, are sustainably enhanced as a result.
