Enerdeal becomes EDP

A shorter name.  Greater scope for action.

At a glance

  • Enerdeal has been part of the EDP Group since February 2023. The name now reflects this reality.
  • This is neither a merger, nor a change in ownership, nor a reorganization.
  • Your contracts, your guarantees, your points of contact, and our bank details will not change.

Why Enerdeal is becoming EDP?

Enerdeal was founded in 2009 and joined the EDP Group in February 2023. Since then, the company has been leveraging the Group’s resources: engineering, financing capabilities, energy storage and management solutions, as well as safety, quality, and compliance standards.

This name change clarifies who we are—for our customers as well as for the public entities and partners we work with.

This change is also part of a group-wide decision. In 2022, EDP brought all of its subsidiaries under a single identity. Belgium, Luxembourg, and France are now implementing this decision.

What the EDP brand stands for?

The group’s identity is embodied in the “We Choose Earth” manifesto. This is not merely a branding exercise: it is aligned with a specific, verifiable commitment—carbon neutrality by 2040—a goal validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.

This commitment has already been largely achieved on the production side: 91% of the electricity generated by the group currently comes from renewable sources.

For you, this isn’t just a statement of intent—it’s a standard. Working with a partner whose decarbonization trajectory is audited by an independent third party makes it easier to document your own indirect emissions and provide the necessary justifications to your customers, investors, and clients.

Will my current contracts be affected?

No. The rebranding does not change the terms, duration, or price of your contracts. No action is required on your part.

Will my points of contact change?

No. The same people will continue to manage your projects, using the same direct phone numbers. The teams remain based in Belgium, Luxembourg, and France, and the partners and subcontractors working on your projects will remain the same.

Will your bank account information change?

No.

A name change is a common pretext used in attempts at wire transfer fraud. If you receive a request to change your bank details purporting to come from us, do not comply and contact your usual point of contact directly.

Are your email addresses and website changing?

Our xxx@enerdeal.com email addresses  will remain active for a sufficient period of time to ensure a smooth transition. The www@edp.com email addresses have been operational since September 15, 2026. Messages sent to an old address will continue to be received by your usual contact person.

The website is accessible via two URLs: www.enerdeal.com and www.edpenergie.com

Will my warranties and maintenance contract be affected?

No. Manufacturer warranties, performance guarantees, and maintenance commitments remain in effect under the same terms and for the same duration. Your service history and monitoring data are retained.

How does this change benefit my projects?

Hybridization. Combining multiple generation sources and storage behind a single connection point to generate more power without waiting for grid reinforcement. The group operates nearly 1 GW of hybrid capacity on the Iberian Peninsula and commissioned its first triple-hybrid facility there in 2026, combining wind, solar, and a 36 MW battery with a capacity of 72 MWh. This is the most direct response to the grid congestion that many industrial sites face today.

Investment Capacity. Our As-a-Service models and power purchase agreements allow you to deploy a solar power plant, a storage system, or a shade structure without any initial investment. The group’s strategic plan calls for more than 12 billion euros in investments by 2028, spread across four regions of the world, and approximately 5 GW of additional capacity between 2026 and 2028.

Access to the Group’s solutions. Battery storage, thermal storage, energy management, monetizing flexibility in the markets, and agrivoltaics. Upstream, the Group’s R&D center, established in 2015, has secured nearly 35 million euros in funding and works with more than 700 European partners, particularly on robotic maintenance of solar power plants.

International coverage. If you have sites outside Belgium, Luxembourg, or France, you can deal with a single point of contact while maintaining local teams at each location.

Who is the EDP group?

EDP is a major global player in the energy sector, with a presence in Europe, North America, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The group employs nearly 12,000 people and organizes its operations around four platforms: renewable generation, grids, customer solutions, and global energy management.

Its portfolio of onshore and offshore wind, solar, and hydroelectric assets represents an installed capacity of nearly 33 GW. The group ranks among the world’s most sustainable electricity companies according to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class indices.

In June 2026, EDP announced at the “Choose France” summit a four-year, 1.3 billion euro investment program in France, led by its subsidiary EDP Renewables France and by Ocean Winds, its joint venture with ENGIE, to develop more than 1 GW of onshore and offshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
